The results achieved during the whole research program will be analyzed and organized to draft technical guidelines, with the scope to provide a useful handbook for developing environmental friendly stabilization of soils. These technical specifications will also help in designing the optimal soil-water-binder mixture proportions able to improve the mechanical and hydraulic characteristics of soils with special consideration of the environmental soil characteristics (possible presence of pollutants and their mobility). The guidelines will be available in print and online upon request. The document is currently confidential, as it is under review for publication in an international journal.
Scientific papers on the results of the project will be presented by the PI, AIs and team members at Scientific Conferences and submitted to International peer-reviewed journals. The published papers will be fully available because the authors will choose an Open access option. Links to publications will be available here. In addition, the participation of the members to National and/or International conferences or workshops will help in disseminating the research results to the scientific community.
A specific stand was set up in the last year of the project at RemTech-Coast Expo in Ferrara (Italy). This expo is the principal international event in Italy on coastal zone and sea management and protection; it brings together the most competitive companies, Universities, research associations and the main institutions of the sector. Therefore, it is a valuable opportunity to disseminate research results relative to dredged sediments. In RemTech past editions, an average of 3000 visitors and 120 stands, coming from Italy and from other countries (e.g. China, Ireland, United Kingdom and Spain), were registered. It was the opportunity to present the project also through three presentations given by the team members in three dedicated sessions: Renato Cosentini (RU3 – POLITO) presented during the conference on the management of excavated soils and rocks; Marta Di Sante (RU1 – UNIVPM) contributed to the Coast Session and Marco Rosone (RU2 – UNIPA) gave a talk within RemTech Europe event (Session 46: Waste-Based Approaches for Soil Recovery). The project was also presented to citizens and families in the framework of the SHARPER night of RESEARCHERS (26 September 2025) in Ancona, during the “Restructura” event (21 - 23 November, 2024, Turin), an Italy's leading trade show for industry professionals on building upgrading, rehabilitation and renovation and to the scientific community during “Geomechanics meeting: Palermo meets Grenoble” held at Université Grenoble Alpes - 3SR Laboratory (11-12 February 2026). A final workshop and related events dedicated to dissemination of the results and of the knowledge gained during the project was organized to promote the use of innovative binders in practical civil engineering applications and to foster stakeholder engagement.
The final workshop of the PRIN 2022 project INSSPIRED SOULS (INnovative and Sustainable Stabilization Processes Involving REcycleD SOils and Used materiaLS) was held on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at the “Mario Giordano” Lecture Hall (Aula Azzurra), Università Politecnica delle Marche (Monte Dago Campus, Ancona).
